Tech Corner can assist your organization with a variety of components associated with your network. With this service we create network designs and implement these network designs. This covers planning and/or re-engineering of the following network architectures from design through implementation and testing:
• local area network also known as LAN
• wireless local area network also known as WLAN
• metropolitan area network also known as MAN
• campus area network also known as CAN
Learn about the different types of network architectures!
Local Area Network (LAN)
A local area network (LAN) is a computer network that spans a small area. Most local area networks (LANs) are restricted to a residential homes, schools or office buildings however other architectures are possible.
Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)
A wireless local area network (WLAN) is a local area network (LAN — see above definition) which uses wireless to link multiple devices through a wireless access point.
Metropolitan area network (MAN)
A metropolitan area network (MAN) is a computer network that spans a large area. It is larger than a local area network (LAN) but smaller than a wide area network (WAN). Most metropolitan area networks (MANs) are used to link organizations within a city.
Campus Area Network (CAN)
A campus area network (CAN) is a computer network that spans a campus such as a college or university. This is done by connecting multiple local area networks (LANs). It is larger than a local area network (LAN) but smaller than a metropolitan area network (MAN).
Infrastructure network design and implementation services are used to plan, design, build, and integrate a network infrastructure that increases productivity and helps to achieve strategic business goals. A key feature of this component is sensitivity to the impact by which the network architecture changes the experience for both users and the client's business.
How does this system help you save money and increase productivity?
Time is money! This system allows users to have data passing across a network in real-time, as opposed to transferring of data/information on physical storage medium through hand to hand exchange. Network infrastructure services allow you to perform the following task to increase productivity:
• sharing of data, files, internet and network resources such as multi-function devices — printer, scanner,
copier.
• increase in security
• elimination of duplicate files and as a result, loss of data and/or information
